Zwanze Day 2022 in Virginia will be hosted by The Veil Brewing Co!
Thank you Cantillon (@brasseriecantillonofficial) for including us! 🤍
🍻 What is Zwanze Day? Every year Cantillon releases a limited beer called Zwanze at select bars and breweries around the world. The event is a celebration of Belgian Lambic culminating in a worldwide toast at 3pm Eastern time. In the U.S. the event only takes place at one select location per state. In addition to the Zwanze beer we will be serving some other limited Cantillon beers listed below.
🗓 When? September 24th, 12-10pm
📍 Where? at our Scott’s Addition location.
🤔 What should I do? Show up, drink and appreciate Belgian Lambic or any of our other offerings.
📝 Details?
This is not a private event. The beers will be served as a part of normal service with other beers, cider and wine available.
All Cantillon beers besides Zwanze will be tapped at open at 12pm. You can buy pours by the glass on a first come first served basis.
The worldwide Zwanze toast will take place at 3pm.
If you would like to participate in the toast please purchase a ticket at the bar beforehand to redeem for a 6oz pour of 2022 Zwanze that will be served in a special event glass that will be yours to keep. You will exchange this ticket for your glass and pour of Zwanze leading up to the 3pm toast.
Participating in the toast is the only way to try Zwanze and the only way to get the special Veil Zwanze 2022 glass made for this event.
🍷CANTILLON DRAFT LINEUP:
Magic Lambic: Lambic blend of 80% Lou Pepe Framboise and 20% blueberry lambic with vanilla
Cuvee Saint Gilloise: Two-year-old lambic in which fresh Hallertau Mittelfrüh hops have been soaked. A perfect balance is struck between the Lambic’s natural acidity and the Hallertau hops’ refined bitterness.
Sang Bleu: Lambic blend with blue honeysuckle, or haskap, berries. We didn’t have to look very far for its new name... a blue fruit that makes a blood-red beer: Sang Bleu.
Vigneronne: Blend of Lambics aged on average 16 to 18 months and of organic Viognier grapes. Viognier grapes make Vigneronne a delicate and very refreshing beer that, due to the fructose, is slightly less acidic than other Cantillon beers.
Saint Lamvinus: Blend of Lambics aged on average 16 to 18 months and of Merlot grapes.
Zwanze 2022 (tapped at 3PM): two-year-old Lambic blend with Congolese black pepper. This pepper grows wild in the forests of the Republic of the Congo. Aromatic, but not too spicy, it blends beautifully with the refreshing acidity of our Lambic. The result is a beer that will pair marvelously with meat or fish.
